First of all, sorry for creating a new post, but I did a search and couldn't find anything specific (either that or I've been lazy).
I'm going to start a new 'properly managed' game (one without auto lines etc), but before I start I'm unsure whether to run the game in Commissioner mode or not. Can someone explain to me what Commissioner mode is again please, and how it affects the game? I can't remember at all what it means (although I know I have used it on OOTP games before).

Re: Commissioner Mode
I haven't tried it in FHM yet, but in OOTP it basically lets you edit your universe on-the-fly. You can still play the game normally, but you'll also see options throughout the game to edit thing you normally wouldn't be able to. Player profiles for example will have an added Editor tab, letting you fully edit the player. The one thing I know of that doesn't behave normally under Commissioner Mode is getting job offers when unemployed. When in Commissioner Mode, you won't receive job offers. Instead, you'll be able to freely take over any team you want.

Re: Commissioner Mode
My understanding is that Commissioner Mode is essentially disabled at this time (and what parts are enabled may not be working yet because needed components are not yet complete).
FYI - the lastest beta version (released a little over an hour ago) is now available
EDIT - Oops! I should have said should soon be available as JeffR noted earlier today "First attempt at an update build today appears to have failed, we're getting a repeatable crash near the beginning of the second season. Sebastian and Malte are looking at it now, but it'll likely be at least another couple of hours before the update, assuming the problem can be found and fixed quickly. "

Re: Commissioner Mode
Cheers both, I'll hold fire playing in Commissioner mode I think until the full game is released then, in the mean time I'll stick to using it when I eventually by the new OOTP

Also ta Ninio, you've just saved me wasting time on my save

Re: Commissioner Mode
IIRC Commissioner Mode can be turned on and off freely within the game (I think it might be via the Game Settings screen). Commissioner Mode has been somewhat restricted since the release of the first beta, but you can edit attributes and some league settings (and possibly also some team settings, but I can't remember for sure). I think you might be able to change league structures, but I can't remember how stable it is.
During the private beta testing we were able to alter more (such as the league scoring levels) but some of this was disabled in order to help with game stability.

Re: Commissioner Mode
I thought I'd read posts (on the OOTP site) indicating such edits aren't really "working" yet (maybe because the game isn't yet taking Att values into account to the extent it will in the future)archibalduk wrote:you can edit attributes

I assume the update hasn't actually been released yet? Just had a look but their seems to have been a delay, does anyone know around what time they might release it?

Maybe my recall is wrong, or it's no longer an issue (and/or maybe what I read connected to the issue of players not yet being fully rated + needed AI player creation tweeks when just a template is used...this might make the effects of Attribute edits harder to gauge)
