I haven't seen any discussions on player attributes and have a couple questions regarding them before I buy the game.
In EHM there was an attribute for wrist shot and slap shot. From the screen shots I've seen, in FHM there is an accuracy and shot range attribute. Many NHL players are known for their hard slap shots, how is that determined in FHM? I'm guessing shot range.
I'm hoping with a new hockey simulator out that they expanded more on Team Work aspect of Hockey. Based on style of play, personality, etc., certain players play better with each other. Is there any attributes to take that into account in FHM? Something I always thought would work well is have a hidden Team Work attribute of say 1 - 10, all players with 1 put on the same line get a performance bonus, the farther away the attribute is, the worse players perform with each other.
Thanks.

Re: Player Attributes
Yeah you're right; the Shot Range attribute determines how far away a player can shoot. However I don't think that really reflects the reality of the situation. A player may have a good wristshot from quite some range but still have a comparably poor slapshot (and vice versa). I don't know if there's more to it than that in the game, but Shot Accuracy and Shot Range are the only shooting attributes.
Similar to EHM, the mental attributes will determine a player's character. There is a hidden Team Work attribute. However there's no sort of line-clicking attribute which I think is what you're trying to suggest. I think this is a really difficult aspect to implement into the game because it is so intangible. I guess you could list the players he plays particularly well with but this wouldn't take into account the fact that there are potentially many players on many other teams who may click just as well with a player.

Re: Player Attributes
I really hope there is more to it. Slapshot and wristshot are a must have in any hockey game. IMO this is one of the most important attribute to make a difference between players. I'm a little bit disappointed by that.archibalduk wrote: I don't know if there's more to it than that in the game, but Shot Accuracy and Shot Range are the only shooting attributes.

Re: Player Attributes
I agree with that only having range and accuracy being in is a bit too little.
I don't see why they couldn't just have Slapshot Accuracy, Slapshot Power and also Wristshot Accuracy and Wristshot Power
Four attributes would be the best, because you have guys who have ridiculously hard slappers but they can't hit the side of a barn, and vice versa. And the same with wristers where you got pure snipers but who lack the heat on it.
