So we had a poll to decide the direction of our next challenge and the winner was a game that was simmed ahead to the future where many current NHLers would be retired, our younger players would be the veterans, and we'd have a new batch of young stars. I simmed the game all the way to 2024 and one of the worst teams in the league at that point was the Boston Bruins. We've run 30 challenges (in which I've participated in most) here at TBL and the opportunity to use the Bruins has not come up... until now.
The start date is May 14th, 2024. We're letting you start a little early so that you'll have a chance to scout the draft (briefly) and draft your own choices before starting the season. You will NOT be allowed to make any UFA signings. You'll have to wait until the first off-season, just like in our usual challenges. No trades until after you've played the first season either. We're using a saved game that I created. It's going to be a large (over 200 MB) download but I'm sure it won't be a big deal for most.

Download the save to the folder that you keep your EHM saves in. For most it looks something like...
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_NAME\My Documents\Sports Interactive\EHM 2007\games
Once you've done that, launch EHM and load that save. The game will load a GM in Tulsa of the CHL and he'll be on vacation. Click to stop it and choose to return from vacation. On the top menu, go to General Manager and choose "Retire". This will bring you to a screen where you can add your GM. Add your GM and take control of the Boston Bruins. Once you've done this, be sure to assign a scout to the NHL draft before you continue to the next day. You'll want to choose "normal" rather than "intensive" because of the time constraints.
This will be different than our regular challenges because you'll have to scout, draft, and re-sign players right off the bat. There's also going to be a lot of names that you don't recognize.
