Booted up EHM07 the other day and its been some real fun - currently half-way into my third season and have started to get some solid young players and future stars into the team to go along with them old farts.
Anyway - I had EHM07 in a folder on a dusty USB stick that I found in a box, but I imagine its either installed of a disc a long time ago and moved over from the harddrive or simply just a pirated copy
So I figured I get a legit copy and install it properly - I read a lot about the declining availability but that you can buy it via the try and buy version - does this still work? how much does it cost? and how safe is it actually buying it online via an outdated game client?
I'm also very curious about all the nice content you guys have put together and made available. Any recommendations on what I should grab?
Updated rosters I figured are the most important which leads to my next question:
I still want to continue playing on my current save, is it possible to load that save up again if I install the client properly this time and update the rosters and stuff? When updating the player roster I don't think I wanna alter the current year and just continue from 2008 (where I am right now) and just draft whatever 2013/2014 draftees in 5~ years - so in this case, I should install the rosters without that patch thing?
I'm also worried about the update after reading "Re-rated the NHL-signed and drafted players" - How much will this affect my current players? I don't wanna hit rock bottom just with a rosters update (not that I think it's that extreme but still!).
Actually, are there any of the other roster DBs that I should use that could work better for me? I just want my current save to stay as intact as possible and I also hope a new roster DB could perhaps add longevity to my games, since I go through the seasons pretty quickly, but I assume regens makes the game continue forever if you want it to(?).
