Random Waiver claims

Post by Usocrazy »

Hello,
I have been playing EHM for many years now and have occasionally dealt with this issue. Sometimes my team will make some random waiver claim for a player that is neither on my shortlist nor have I even opened their profile. This happens in the course of a normal day, not while I am on vacation or anything, just normal operation. I usually set everything (Asst. GM ) to where no one can make a decision without me, but that also has random issues with the occasional player popping up or being let go. Any ideas?

Never seen that myself, although I've played this game, like you, for years.

Probably not much you can do about it. Just put them back on waivers, I suppose. :dunno: :-D

I've been playing since it was released and haven't ever run into that either... sorry. Perhaps an early sign of some sort of database corruption?

Not likely. as I am using new database and so is everyone else in the challenge and this is the only time we have heard about this.

I would genreally think something is amiss in the settings you have, but it is not a database issues, as that only puts players on teams, it does not function to change any of the process, coding of the game.

I have been playing this game since 2007 (thousands of hours, best $29 I ever spent), and there have been occasions where this bug crops up. I don't remember any over the past year or so until this month.

It's driving me nuts because I can't begin to think of a cause.

Placing players back on waivers is not a great solution (but sometimes the only one) because they are usually on bad, multi-year contracts and under-performing, which is why they are on waivers in the first place, and it would cost me big bucks to buy them out if no one picks them up (which no one ever does that I can remember).

All of my settings for the asst GM are for them to make no transactions even if I am on vacation (which occasionally happens anyway). This bug has occurred with me using both Windows XP, Vista and 7.

It's also not a case of players being on my shortlist. The last 2 occasions I have neither looked at the waiver wire, much less their profile, nor put them on shortlist.

Weird. :dunno:
