Before we hand you your team there a few things we need to go over first.
First of all, there is a huge difference between playing EHM online and offline. There are plenty of GMs here, including myself, Eric, and Brad, who will be happy to help you. But it will be important that you stay patient during your first few seasons in the league because it is very likely there will be some struggles.
Trading is far more difficult when playing online, and there will undoubtedly be GMs who will try to get you to trade them your draft picks. Keep in mind that your 1st round picks are the most important asset you'll have and unless you are a cup contender there are very few reasons for you to ever trade away a 1st. When you start making trades you should get into the habit of consulting veteran GMs before accepting the draft. Me, Eric, Brad, Tim and Greg are just some of the experienced GMs who would be willing to give you feedback on potential moves and explain to you why it is a good deal or a bad deal.
And again, it is important that I stress just how important draft picks are when playing online. Unlike offline play, it is very rare to acquire a star player in his prime through trades or free agency. If you want one, your best bet is to keep your draft picks and find one that way. Plus drafting is a wonderful experince when you get nearly all 30 gms together at one time and draft a future star to develop, in a live 7 rd draft.
Tactics are also more difficult and more important online than offline and will require plenty of trial and error. I have been playing online for a long time and even I am still learning about properly use my tactics.
The last thing I wanted to cover is activity. In this league we don't require a huge time commitment, on a lot of days you can check your team and check in on Skype in 5 minutes or less, but it is important that you are consistent with your activity level. I'd rather have a GM who checks in briefly every day than somebody who spends an hour setting their tactics only to disappear for weeks at a time.
