Award editing in EHM Updater

Post by adawxawx »

Hi, Im trying to make the correct player award histories for my own database, but when I try to import my spreadsheet into the database via EHM updater, i get these errors:

Image

I get that the messages mean that that record doesnt exist in the database. And for some of the errors, like for Jagr's and Malkin's, I know I just have to change the spelling a little bit to fix them.

But how can I get around the errors for staff that are NOT in the database, like Howe, Lindsay and Lafleur? I really don't want to create a whole bunch of new staff in the database, that takes too long. :help:

You should be able to add awards to players that do not exist in the database (so long as their names exist in the DB). Are you using version 2.0.5 of the Updater? (i.e. the latest version). I fear this may be a bug. I'm working on a new version of the Updater but it is still a couple of months away from being ready.

Try using this older version of the Updater: http://1drv.ms/1F7azaK

This was the final command line version of the tool and should work. You will need to place it in the same folder as your database. Also put your staff_awards_update file in the same folder as your database (it must be a csv file - so you'll need to save it as csv in Excel/LibreOffice if it is currently an xml file).

Once you have done this, double-click on the EHM Updater.exe file and then enter 15. Hopefully this will do the trick.

Incidentally, I am working on a new and improved version of the Updater (which will also incorporate a pre-game editor). It's still a couple of months away from being ready though.
