Whenever a patch/update is released it is auto-uploaded into your game. This might seem to be a nice thing and maybe to this point it has been.
But I would like to make this optional. When an patch/update is released make it optional to the user whether they wish to upload it. For most, this just adds one extra click, as they will click yes right away. However, I want the option to click no.
The recent EHM Assistant has to be updated it seems, every time there is a new EHM-wide update, so you have to wait a few days sometimes. For me, that might be the couple days a week where I can spend a lot of time playing EHM. For my personal needs, the recent update, to 15.5.0, and now 15.5.1 do not necessarily include amazing new features. Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the work into it, but what I am saying is that what is offered by 15.5.0, to me, is not as important as keeping my EHM Assistant running, so I don't need that "15.5.0" patch right away, and would like to at least, delay it within my game, until the matching version for the EHM Assistant was uploaded.
The first couple patches made sense to auto-update. But I think we're at a point now where this should become an optional upload. If you want the upload right away, all it takes is one more click, so it's not a big deal to those who want it.
If there already is a workaround for this in existence, please let me know.

The only convenient way would be that EHM would have its versions accessible in Properties -> Betas. You can suggest that in the Wishlist thread. Other than that, there are only ways to prevent auto-updates, for example using Steam in offline mode.

You can right-click on the game listed in Steam and click on Properties. There is an Updates tab which allows you to prevent updates being downloaded in the background. I don't know if this will stop things altogether, but perhaps that might be worth a try. Also, you could always ensure you're offline when running Steam.
