Never added AHL control, prospects have terrible coach

Post by longshot »

Hello,

I'm still in my first GM campaign, second season. I'm in 2nd place and have done a ton or work to build this team.

I have a lot of great prospects and when I looked at the AHL s hedule it said no games played or scheduled. However, my goalie prospect who averages a 7 at the pro level is averaging a 5 in the AHL. There are only 7 people listed on its roster.

When I looked at the coach, he is terrible... working with youngsters: 7, management: 7, determination, discipline: 6 coaching forwards: 6.

So I want NONE of my prospects to go near this guy..

Anyone have any suggestions for my developing prospects, since I can't change the AHL coach at this point? Or am I looking at a restart after all this work.

Thanks guys

Perhaps you could hire the AHL Coach away by signing him to your NHL team (and then firing him), and the AHL team will have to replace the Staff you hire away and maybe they'll hire someone better?

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately he has no interest in becoming an assistant coach for me.

Edit: *no interest

Did you try offering him an obscene amount of money? I had a coach once who "didn't want to come to North America," and I offered him max everything (including signing bonus) and he changed his mind. Not sure if you have the financial freedom to do so, but it's worth a shot if you do.
