[EHM2007]Changing the Max of Game Final Scores

Post by tmayer44 »

Is there a way to change the average score of an NHL game? It seems like in every NHL game the highest final score won't be over 6 goals. I tested this and put together an All-Star team of players and played an entire NHL schedule and still the highest score of the games was 6-0. Seems to me if you had a team of NHL All-Stars playing just a regular NHL team the score would be a lot higher than 6-0.

In real life they don't play defense in the All Star game. I'm thinking in EHM it is simmed just like a normal game. I'm pretty sure there are penalties and even fights. So I don't think the game differentiates between an All Star game and regular game.

As far as regular season scoring goes I think there is already too much scoring. There are always 15-20 players with over 100 points which we are lucky to see 1 or 2 players a season hit 100 in real life. But to answer your question I think you would have to raise the offensive attributes of all the players and perhaps lower the defensive attributes to see an increase in scoring.

There is no setting/slider to adjust the average score of an NHL game.

There might be some ways to increase scoring though...many/most EHM07 users found it much easier to score than your experience (to easily/to often scoring big victories). This resulted in significant efforts being made to reduce/decrease scoring in EHM07, including the EHM Realism Patch http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... lism+patch - you can ensure the database you're using has not had the Realism Patch applied to it (I think the TBL Rosters were using it the last few years).

The practice of "creating star/superstar regens at start-up" was stopped years ago too, and that practice would likely increase scoring some (essentially you create an excess of superstars by creating players who have already retired, and set them to immediately retire, and thus you immediately create many talented regens).

There is also editing you can do to the database (players) that will likely increase scoring, but it's definitely not "quick & easy" to do

But I am surprised at your experience, surprised you didn't score more/have bigger victories :dunno:

P.S. And just in case you don't know...an updated/new EHM was released on Steam a year ago :-)

Scoring is way too high in EHM 2007 without using adjusted consistency ratings and the realism patch. Even then, it eventually goes back up with regens.

On a side note, you should try out and buy EHM-1 if for no other reason to support the one developer for it and keep it improving.
