Not in game shape?

Post by blueshirt »

A few trades I have done resulted in me getting some players who are not in game shape. How do I get them in game shape? I've put them in practice and turned up the intensity but still nothing. I played them a few games and one got injured. TIA

If they aren't in game shape, well...they just need to play! It may take a lot of time if they don't play a lot of minutes (ie 4th liners). Count something between 10 and 30 games before they're back in shape; less for goalies (as they play all the 60 minutes).

you'll likley want to put them on light practice while you get them into game shape

The injury probably wasn't related to not beingin game shape by the way, but yeah players just need to play. This is a concept that there is a big difference between being in shape and being in "game shape" and that's what this represents in the game. They aren't out of shape, they just aren't up to speed with the game since they haven't been in game situations for a while.
