How to edit database by yourself?

Post by montekristoo99 »

Hi!

I just installed the game and downloaded the latest TBL Rosters. I wanted to edit it by myself and make all the trades and FA signings as of June 2016.

I can't do it. I can't save the changes. I set the starting year for 2016, edit player's contracts and teams. Then, I save it, import database in the game and start new career and I can't set the starting date for Sep 2016. It always shows 2015. There are no changes in the game that I made. No new teams for players and no new attributes.

Can someone explain it to me? I'm a complete newbie. Any guidance is welcomed.

Cheers!

You can only go to the past, not "in to the future", so 2016 start year is not yet available.

As for the edits not sticking, did you remember to push "confirm" after each edit?

Thanks for the info, but... where's the CONFIRM button? I can only see buttons like Export Table, Add new item, Delete Item, View notes etc. You mean click SAVE after every change? I did that...

You may have a resolution where the confirm button is out of the screen. Try switching to a larger resolution.

Sounds like you're referring to the EHM 1 Editor rather than the Pre-Game Editor.

It also sounds like you're re-importing the database after you make your edits. You should not re-import the database as you are just overwriting your edits with the original data. There's a flowchart on the opening screen of the Editor which explains how to go about things.

Do you know why this is or how to fix it in the data?

I think it needs to be added as the start year by SI. So maybe start of next season?

so basically what I did was the following

Removed carolina and put in Quebec Nordqiues... took out Charlotte and created laval Rocket and moved the affilate from Carolina to Florida Everblades to Fort Wayne and it says that there is only 28 teams and needs 29 and says that Carolina and Charlotte are missing but i put in the divisions that Carolina and Charlotte had for laval and Quebec

Are you trying to use the PreGame Editor to edit a modern (2014 or 2015 start date) database? AFAIK that can't be done (because regardless of what you see in the PreGame Editor the game automatically moves teams around to create the 2014 or 2015 setup)

There's a thread here about moving teams around (but not replacing) that might help

OOPS! Forgot to link the thread! Sorry about that http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 10&t=16771

Sorry, I don't know as I've never tried to do what you're doing nor do I recall anyone else doing so (maybe they have and I just don't recall it).....the thread I linked I recalled and thought it might help, but you'll have to read the thread

You need to "force the database"
