Encouraging Players to Sign (Assistant)

Post by Kersus »

In running the Canadiens, I have in each of three seasons tried to get Radulov to sign but he prefers less money in the KHL. So I tried messing with the Assistant editor, removing his contracts and he'll just sign with another team in the K. I've edited his favourite teams and people as well to no effect. He'll play in the K for 2 Mil a year and I've offered him over six. He's all # for signing with no interest whatsoever.

Any idea what things one might edit in order to encourage him to the NHL? Trades and signings do seem harder in EHM than in real life, but that's another discussion. Mostly I want to key on what I can edit to get Radulov to sign,

What is his adaptability? Low values in that attribute may make a player reluctant to play abroad.

I made it 20 and he at least considered a 7mil contract before going with 3mil in the KHL. I've tried other teams as well, but no love. Must be some way to get him in the NHL.

At the time EHM EA was made nobody thought Radulov would make a comeback in the NHL. Except his adaptability are there any hidden attributes that could maybe play a role in that? Maybe the player loves his nation/team too much :dunno:

Other than Ambition, I do not think there are.

Along with Adaptability and Ambition (needing to be high) perhaps Loyalty (needing to be low) might play a factor...

Perhaps League Reputation plays a factor too (lower the KHL League Reputation...not sure if the EHM Assistant allows that to be done in a saved game)

Add Canada as his 2nd nationality and change it back afterwards when you have his signature.

That always works, or atleast i know it works if you put the country your in as first nationality but should work with second aswell. Usually do this with young free agents from NA.

Wow, that's a good idea I'll remember for the future. I altered Ambition, Loyalty and Adaptability as well as a few other stats (favourite and disliked staff and clubs), and encouraged him to sign with me any which way (killing his contracts over and over). On my third year he finally signed with me and plays absolutely terrible, but the attributes look pretty accurate to what he is now.

I'll try that nationality thing next time. It might have been the easy way.

Cheers.
