Is deleting names safe?
I'm kinda tired of getting a ton of old-timey names in my drafts (Mel, Butch, etc.). Is deleting these first names from the DB using the DB editor safe?

As far as I know, there is no editor that allows it/have such a feature.

Doesn't the EHM Editor list all first names? I'd assume you'd be able to delete them.

Re: Is deleting names safe?
The name deletion buttons in the EHM Editor do not work yet. Removing a name is tricky because lots of other parts of the DB rely on them (e.g. staff, officials, team records, etc). So if you delete a name that is in use, all of those items that link to the name will be invalidated. I don't know if the game will allow items such as staff to have an unassigned name.
What I'd like to add to the Editor is the ability to delete all unassigned names. This would remove, for instance, those junk names with random letters that have been inadvertently entered into the DB over the years.

I tried changing the names around. It looks like players whose first names were changed in the DB are fine. I haven't done any substantial testing yet, just loaded up the game to check.archibalduk wrote:The name deletion buttons in the EHM Editor do not work yet.
