NHL 18: Most realistic game options (Stats)

Post by Saytham1980 »

Hi.

I really enjoy playing EA's NHL-series since 1995, but there is an issue I am having with pretty much every version of the game since... maybe 10 years.

While playing a season scoring seems to be just fine. But when I go deeper to watch player and team stats everything on my team is just unrealistic compared to the AI teams. I'm always in the bottom stats on Power Play, Penalty Killing and Goalie-Stats (GAA, Sv%) - because I get less PP- and PK-situations and my goalies don't have a lot of shots to handle each and every game... but once they get 2 or 3 GA in a game their stats are not even average.

My question: Does anyone have had the same issues over the past few years and does anyone know how to modify all the game settings to get more realistic personal team- and goalie-stats?

I’ve found the same thing.

The standard difficulty settings are either WAY too hard for me or too easy!

I’m not too bothered by the stats, but would prefer a more enjoyable gameplay experience.

Not found any decent gameplay sliders yet though.

This has been the case for me since after NHL 2004 (I think the latest version I own/have played is NHL 13). The most enjoyable hockey games I've played are NHL 99, NHL 2004 and NHL 2K6. I could find a decent enough skill setting which was not too easy or too hard.
