Hi Guys,
I am wondering how many teams one GM can manage at a time. In my current game, I am managing both the Calgary Flames, and Team Canada (senior). I'm interested in managing the Canadian Junior Team, but I can never seem to get them to accept my application (I am the #1 ranked GM in the game, according to the ranking chart). I assume I'd need to resign from the senior team to manage the junior team. Is this correct? How many teams can one GM manage at a time?

I find it kind of interesting to scour th European leagues, and put together Canadian teams for these little tournaments. Sometimes, if I am looking for some AHL help, I'll use this chance to see who's available as a UFA that I can bring into my NHL organization on a one year deal after the tournament.
I even signed Wayne Gretzky to a 10 year deal as my Asst. GM (What's Team Canada without The Great One?).
Right now, my Canadian team is gearing up for a European tournament that should be a walk in the park (most of them are), and I was able to grab Jamie Lundmark, Andrew Ference, and Scottie Upshall to be my headliners for the team.
It does get boring after a while, and I think managing the U-20 team would be a great way to scout players as well. The only thing, is next season is an Olympic year, and I'd hate to not be the Team Canada GM for those. Maybe I'll wait until after and then resign, setting my sights on the juniors.
A question I just thought of...Has anyone managed to become the GM of a Junior team, when they're also managing an NHL team? I am wondering if the AI would favour a current Junior coach over a pro coach?

With Team USA, I go back and forth with Senior and Junior teams during the season. First, Deutschland Cup (with a lot of unsigned UFA superstars and oldies), then I sign with Junior team, to be right back with senior for the World Champ (with team C or D this time). The only time it buzz a bit, is the olympic years, where I shouldn't tried junior because those freaking USA hockey didn't open a job spot for the big O and my team USA asst GM got the glory...Systemfel wrote:I've been giving up my Team Canada job to manage the junior team for years now. I always get the job back before the next little tournament.
