Hasek troubles

Post by tabascoward »

I have recently started a new game with the Red Wings but so far in 8 games, Hasek as a GAA of 3.72, has let in 30 goals and has got an average rating of 7.38.
Should i trade him and if so, who for.

His average rating is high for such a low GAA - revamping your tactics, especially the defensive pairs, would be my first choice. Look at your numbers and see during which situations you have let in most goals, and work from there...

Make your Tactics "unit" based.
Make your top line Offensive(all the way up if you have the talent)
2nd line Offensive
3rd line Defensive
4th Line Very Defensive

Look at you D-men make sure that a few of them don't Join the rush. Put Persona Tactic on Hit 'Hard'
and make Your non-Offensive (Defensemen) Talents (Lilja, ect) have Defensive Mentality.

Change Gap Control to Tight and Back-checking to hard
Put Pressure on High and try a Man to Man Defense. Also if you line match.
Make sure their #1 is against 1 of your top lines.

I use these tactics and have had the leagues best Defense 7years straight.
With
Grossman,Fistric,Niskanen,Vishnevskiy, Vlasic, Hickey
and Richard Bachman is my goalie Currently but before him it was Jon Bernier

Of course it depends on your Database and which way your players turn out. But with Hasek you have to be in your first 2 years.
So you should have Rafalski and Lidstrom. They both are way too offensive to be paired together except for on the Powerplay.
You need a defensive talent a Hatcher, ect to pair with your top D-men. because they eat up tons of time.

But your best bet is to move him for a younger goalie

Even though you can have Hasek around for a few years by signing him over and over as the seasons end.

But it's just the simple fact that he is old and easily out of shape half the time.

He's that way when I have him on my team.
