Absence of non-playing profile?
I am thinking about getting Wade Flaherty for my UHL team. When I go to make an offer, it says I can also hire him as a coach, but he does not have a non-playing profile. So how can I figure out if he would make a good coach too?

Not necessarily going to be there. With guys of certain vintage, they can have the player coach tag as well, and you can hire as "player-coach". Some who want to be coaches will have the info for non-playing profile. Others will not, as they are not yet interested in ending their career as a player. This happens when guys are getting close to retirement age in many cases.

Although it was a good theory, i think you're wrong on this one, laskey16
Often, you'll see retired players available to become coach (or whatever other staff position) and you can clearly see their staff attributes right away, even if it would be their first staff job.
I tend to think batdad get it here. The guy don't want to end his playing career, but might be interested in a player/coach role. Not a full staff duty yet.

I've seen bugs concerning this.Francois Tremblay wrote:So what does a player/coach do other than being a player? I see him on the personnel list, but not on the practice list.
If you offer player/coach contract to player without non-players stats. When the players leave the teams, he stays on the personnel list. I've seen this in my games like 2-3 times... So I won't offer that kind of contracts anymore

Also, I've hired a un-retired player with staff skills as assistant GM and he counted on my players maximum contracts limits... I was forced to sack him later in the season after a trade altered my players count and offered the job to good ole Andy Moog instead

Some obscure glitches heh?:p

I had that recently with a Spanish player I signed for my "gooning-it-up" save with Romford in the EPL. I signed him in April as a player-coach, he retired as a player in July. He never had any coaching stats and is now on my personnel list as a Retired player.holydogg wrote:I've seen bugs concerning this.Francois Tremblay wrote:So what does a player/coach do other than being a player?
