My Trips To Bell Center 2008/09
I caught the Roy retirement game form a lodge. Ceremony was good.. game was actually dull as hell. But I was with buiddies and frankly they wer emroe itnerested in drinking the free booze than anything else.
Im going to see the Habs vs Rangers game which is retro jersey night. Its the 'actual' 100th birtchday night I believe. Ill enjoy htis more becuase Im going with my 6 year old son and the seats are next to zamboni entrance which is good place to get pucks after warm up.

Let me clarify 'free booze'. When you sit in a lodge, those in it can drink and eat as much as they want and not pay out of thier own pockets. The person, well normally the Company who bought the lodge for the season does pay a fee for the lodge and thus does pay for the food and booze as a part of the cost of the lodge.
Its like the Desjardins (Formerly Air Canada) entire second level section of the Bell center where all food and non alcoholic beverages are free and you sit in normal regualr seating. But of course the ticket cost per game is more. I repfer these seats because the beer fills you up too much and I enjoy my Bell Center hot dogs and smoked meat too much to have beer take the space!! (Plus im the one who hasd to drive home everyone!!)

I hadn't heard about this but I really doubt that they'll be giving out all you can drink free Sam Adams. They'd be leaving themselves liable to a lawsuits if somebody had been there and then got into a car accident later.archibalduk wrote:Aren't the Bruins doing a similar thing with the Sam Adams sponsored Bru Fest?bruins72 wrote:They had free booze at a sporting event? Sbukle, I see what you're talking about now. The "lodge" seating you're talking about is like what we call the "luxury boxes". They're owned by companies and they usually take clients there or let employees use them. When you said "lodge", I was thinking you meant "loge", which is what a lot of arenas around here call the lower ring of seats (basically, what's not in the balcony).

Aye that's what I thought. However, a Google search shows that it's just one free drink (link) - my mistake!!bruins72 wrote:I hadn't heard about this but I really doubt that they'll be giving out all you can drink free Sam Adams. I can't believe people in the arena watch the game on the TV rather than turn their heads and watch it for real. What's the point in paying all that money for the box?!!! They may as well buy Center Ice and stay at home!

Usually those people in the luxury box aren't really fans. The game is just a background to them. They're more interested in schmoozing with their business clients or enjoying the luxuries. These are the same kind of people you see at games who are talking on their cell phones or spending more time at the concession stands than they do in their seats watching the game. It's cool when a real fan gets to take advantage of a luxury box though. I hear it's a real bird's-eye view of the game.
