Team illness

Post by LoXish »

Half of my team went out with a virus, some for a few days, other for upwards of 2 weeks. I'm talking literally 9 players. I've NEVER seen that before, thought it was nuts...

Anyone seen this?

MOD NOTE: I just renamed this because the "Virus" subject line was a little alarming to see. - B72

Happened to me only once. But i was lucky because it was in the offseason. :-p
Usually about half of the team gets ill, just one after another, and it's pretty annoying.

Yeah, super annoying, 5 of my top 6 are on IR so I could call up enough players to dress a full roster and be under the cap... blah.

STD?

I have only seen 2 players sick on the same team at the same time before, so this is funny.

You should be able to 7 day IR them and call people up. Unless you don't have enough guys in the A.

I've never had it in EHM, but i've seen players get viruses in FM2008, usually in that game you get the option to send them home (and be without them for a couple weeks) or let them stay with the team and they might be back in a few days, but it could also spread to other teammates

not sure if the option to send them home is in this game though

Holy cow!

My team just got that very same virus I think.
Playing with the St. Louis Blues (now in December 2008), it affected TJ Oshie first, and now has knocked out Patrick Berglund, Brad Boyes, Alexei Mikhnov, Victor Hedman, Alex Pietrangelo and Hannu Toivenen. Trainers report that it will keep them out for about a week.
I hope it ends with those 7. Currently in 3rd place in the West, surprisingly, with Peoria winning the AHL title last year and I'm quickly summoning up some replacements.

Holy crow.
More fallen Blues: defencemen Adam Pardy and Erik Johnson both out for a week with a virus. There's some bad water down in Missouri, apparently.

I've seen it happen, but it is rare. Best thing to do is keep the original guy out of the lineup to try and nip it in the bud. At this point - for you - you just need to ride it out.

I've had that happen where I ended up losing a few key guys for a week. Annoyed the hell out of me.

I'm currently doing a season with the Sens and I've already lost two guys to a virus for a week. I'm kind of worried that they won't be the last.

Yep, I lost two more in November. But it looks as though the flu is finally gone...knock on wood.

I have once seen that my players have flu, about 10 players at the same time, when i have played SM-liiga. It happens in august or september, and they suffer few days cause of that flue. That's not surprise in Finland, cause there's really is lots of flu in autumn.

But i've never seen virus. :-k

I had four in a two month period. I'm currently midway through January now and luckily I haven't been hit by anymore.

I remember having this virus back in EHM 05 I think. It was right before the playoffs too. Yeah, that screwed me over

I had 11 players out with virus or flu at the same time with Phoenix, I was lucky that all of them came back just in time for the camp! :notworthy:
Must have been a ancient desert virus :-?
At the moment I think injuries to the mouth are contagious :dunno:

I'm so much lucky that this isn't happen to me yet. My farm team didn't have much of prospect to back-up my team and i can't imagine what this would done to have 11 player in the mid-season unvailable for a week. [-o<

I had outbreakes of flu or virus a couple of times, but always in the off-season. I wonder what my players do on their vacation...

In my experience with EHM, I have yet to have something like this. Does it only happen with mid to small market teams?

As my last one was with Phoenix Coyotes, I can say no.
