Most surprising team-Boston Bruins

Most disappointing team-I originally would have said Dallas, but ever since they got rid of Avery they have pushed themselves up to a .500 record. Ottawa takes it on this one.

Most exciting player-- Alexander Ovechkin

NHL Awards:

Hart Trophy- Alexander Ovechkin

Calder Trophy--Steve Mason
Norris Trophy--Shea Weber

Unofficial Awards:

Most surprising team: Boston Bruins

Most disappointing team: Ottawa Senators

Most surprising player: Steve Mason - came out of nowhere and just dominated. 7 shutouts in what, 25 games?
Most disappointing player: Steven Stamkos - 14 points in 40 games and -11... not what I expected from the #1 pick
Most exciting player: Nikolai Zherdev, always makes something happen when he's on the ice.

NHL Awards:

Hart Trophy - Alexander Ovechkin
Vezina Trophy - Steve Mason
Calder Trophy - Steve Mason
Norris Trophy - Niklas Lidström
Adams Trophy -
Selke Trophy - Henrik Zetterberg

Unofficial Awards:

Most surprising team: Boston Bruins

Most disappointing team: Ottawa Senators, although the Islanders are up there too!

Most surprising player: Scott Clemmensen and Kevin Weekes, just about everyone thought the Devils were done when Brodeur went down and these two have been solid in his absence.
Most disappointing player: You mean other than Sean Avery? Either Jeff Tambellini 6 points and a -9 in 32 games OR Mike Comrie 13 points in 25 games, but a -7.
Most exciting player: Alexander Ovechkin, unless he's a worse fighter than Semin.

NHL Awards:

Hart Trophy - Tim Thomas, but there are probably 10 others that are deserving too.
Vezina Trophy - Tim Thomas (although Mason is a REALLY close second)
Calder Trophy - Steve Mason, with Kris Versteeg in 2nd
Norris Trophy - Niklas Lidstrom
Adams Trophy - Claude Julien
Selke Trophy - Michael Ryder, Boston

I love seeing The Boston Bruins as everyone's most surprising team! :-D

Unofficial Awards:

Most surprising team - Boston Bruins (Even though I expected them to improve upon last season, I didn't expect to see them perform as well as they have.)
Most disappointing team - Ottawa Senators (although I could almost mark an argument for the NY Rangers. I really expected more out of them.)

Most surprising player - David Krejci (I knew he was going to be good, based on his performance towards the end of last season but he's been amazing)
Most disappointing player - Steve Stamkos (I'm going to pass on the easy shot at Avery and agree with Lakrisal on this. I just expected a better rookie season out of Stamkos. Is he just not ready for the NHL or is it that he isn't playing with the right people?)
Most exciting player - David Krejci (I just really like this kid's game)

NHL Awards:

Hart Trophy - Ovechkin (He's the best player in the league)
Vezina Trophy - Steve Mason (as much as I'd love to give it to a Bruins goalie, Thomas and Fernandez have split the time and are pretty equal for the Bruins. Mason has been THE man for Columbus)
Calder Trophy - Kris Versteeg (I wish the Bruins hadn't traded him away. Honorable mentioned here to Blake Wheeler and Matt Hunwick)
Norris Trophy - Zdeno Chara (he's been the big defenseman we were expecting when the Bruins signed him)
Adams Trophy- Claude Julien (he's a big part of the reason the Bruins are doing so well. He's got the team buying into his system and playing the type of team game they need to play to win.)
Selke Trophy- Mike Richards
