Okay, it's time to choose our team for Challenge 12. We'll be using the Lidas 1.1 update (unless he sneaks out another update before we start and if he does, we'll announce it in the rules) for the challenge. If you want to participate in the challenge you MUST use this update.
This time you have a choice between 2 different NHL teams, 2 AHL teams, and 2 ECHL teams. We're going to hold off on using another Canadian junior team until some of the drafted players are added. Here is the catch... the AHL and ECHL teams will be played straight. No special rules. Just log your stats like you normally would. For the NHL, we're simplifying our old rules. We're dropping the "core" and "NTNB" but we've got a few new rules. I'm going to make another post in the challenge forum giving a basic rundown of these rules for the NHL. If an NHL team is the one used for this challenge, we'll edit that post to be more detailed. Any questions about these rules should go in the Challenge Questions and Feedback post, also found in the Challenge forum. Please make sure to read these rules before voting.
So cast your vote for the next challenge! Please don't vote if you have no plans on actually participating.

Do the ECHL teams have NHL/AHL affiliations? I haven't messed with Lidas' rosters.

Yes they do, and the affiliations are easy to spot.

The affiliations are what's going to make them interesting.

I'm currently using the default db (will download Lidas shortly), and there is no affiliation for Utah. Is this something Lidas has changed?

I want to try the new rules. And I vote for the flying fish-sticks as they seem a real challenge. Not only are they a naff team, they've got some injuries as well.

It's beginning to look like a two horse race. If this one stays close, will there be a run-off vote for the final team selection?

Of course, in the highly unlikely event of a tie... then we might have to do a vote between the two.

It is beginning to look like the Gorton's Fisherman is going to win the day. They'll be quite a challenge with DiPietro on the shelf for so long.

DiPietro, Witt, Martinek, and Sillinger are all on the IR for multiple months at the start of the game.

By this we mean that we are going to mark down who voted (not who they voted for) and see if these people actually played the challenge.

Okay, I'm closing the poll and locking this post. The New York Islanders will be the team we use for Challenge 12. Keep an eye out for an announcement soon. DO NOT start the challenge yet because the rules have been changed up and not all of them were included in that preview post.
