Getting a player back who has retired

Post by Sjostrom »

I do not think this has been asked before (I saw a few threads about players retiring, but mostly how to prevent it).

Is there any way to get players back, who have already retired (i.e. with an editor or something)?

I drafted Danny Kristo, and had him in my prospects for three years. I had planned on signing him to the team and developing him in years 4 and 5 in the AHL ranks, but he retired literally days before I was going to sign him. He claimed he could no longer support himself playing hockey.

On a side issue, I've had similar things happen with other key prospects. Is there any way to prevent this from happening (short of signing them earlier)? Is there any way to make clear your intention to sign them or develop them?

Thanks.
