Does anybody know when the NHL tickets for games in Helsinki go on sale?
The Stockholm games went on sale about two weeks ago but unfortunately they were only accepting Nordic credit cards so I wasn't able to get any tickets.
The cheapest tickets at Stockholm were approx €75 (£65) which is quite expensive, really. However, it's one of those events that doesn't happen very often so myself and my bro (Calv) are quite happy to pay for tickets, flights and hotel. We were really frustrated that our credit cards wouldn't work on the Swedish tickets site so now we're checking www.lippu.fi and www.lippupavelu.fi as well as www.livenation.co.uk on almost a daily basis in the hope that we might be able to get some tickets for Helsinki. Plus, I love Finland so it'd be great to visit again.
Tickets to Prague will be sold here and will be cheaper than in 2008.
Come here, Archi and Calv. Prague is warmer than Helsinki. And we have better beer I think Jet2.Com (or some other low-cost airline) operates Manchester-Prague and Leeds-Prague directly.
Apparently there's still plenty tickets left for the premiere in Stockholm. Now they are discussing if it's worth to have premieres in Stockholm in the future.
I think they should, the problem this year isn't the game itself, I think the problem is the teams. I don't think many swedes cares about San Jose and Columbus, even though both teams got great players and some swedish players.
Last year it was Detroit Red Wings vs. St. Louis Blues and Red Wings had played in the Stanley Cup final the season before and had swedish superstars like Lidström and Zetterberg in their team.
Finland had same problem last year, when Florida and Chicago started their season there. Only superstars were Toews, Keith and Kane. Antti Niemi and Ville Koistinen were only Finns, Niemi played shutout in one game and Koistinen scored twice in other game.

I spotted a fair few empty seats last night (was watching it on ESPN). Personally, I'd jump at the opportunity to see any team play but I suppose with such a strong league in Sweden the Swedes are going to be more interested in watching NHL teams with plenty of Swedes on their rosters.
Maybe if the organisers had allowed foreign credit cards then there would have been a higher attendance. My brother and myself would have been there for a start!
I hope they continue the Premieres in the future. I think they're such great events and, for many of us in Europe, it's our only real chance to go to an NHL game.
I know a guy from England who went to one of the DET-STL games last season, seems to have been no problems back then. Perhaps something has changed this year I don't know.
I took the morning off work so that I could book my tickets online as soon as they started going on sale. I tried to book using both my bank (Visa) and credit (Mastercard) cards but it wouldn't accept them. My Mastercard has worked no problem when I've ordered things abroad before. My brother's cards didn't work either...
It seemed from the FAQs on the website that only cards from Scandinavia would work.
