I do not know how many of you guys have seen the Sens - Kings game but I have finally understood why there is so much complaint about Avery. On one side, he is all though in the declarations in the paper but when it comes to fightning he needs Norstrom to defend him.
Ih this game he show what a cowrd he is. He goes and slashes Haske on the hand with the stick, then punches him in the mask and face and knowing tha McGratton will go after him he leaves his sweater untied, and then makes darn sure the refs see it so they can toss him out of the game. Good way to make sure you don't have to come back and face the music Avery!
And all that comming from the guy that a couple of months back said the papers: "I think it was typical of most French guys in our league with a visor on, running around and playing tough and not back anything up." He is exactlly like that, when McGratton went after him all he did was hang on to McGrattons legs and fell on the ice quick not to be beatten by any chance.
I know that probbaly some of you will jump and defenad him but to me he is nothing more but a coward that only picks on players he knows do not fight that much.

First off I will say I didn't see the game or the fight. I will also freely admit that Avery is a loudmouth, not that bright, and plays with an energy that even he can't control a lot of times.
However calling him a 'coward' from one fight he didn't win is not exactly accurate. He is also not a guy who "only picks on players he knows do not fight that much" he was in a fight with McGratton, correct? I have seen Avery is some nasty fights I more accurately term as 'wars' against guys who actually are bigger and better fighters than himself. Quite simply you don't approach three hundred penalty minutes in an NHL season and over three hundred in the AHL being a guy who will only fight guys who don't fight much.
I won't argue, the guys a weasel, the case could even be made that he's a bit of a cheapshot artist, but he's not a chicken.
As for knocking around Hasek that is a tactic that is as old as Hasek is, ask anyone who was a fan when he plaed in Buffalo. It was common to knock around Dom because it got him 'off his game' and took advantage of his being a hot head... so Avery is by far not the first 'agitator' to be given such a misson and he'll be far from the last. That's going to be something you're going to have to get used to.

I would not want him in my team and no he did not fight McGratton. he picked up on Fisher in the first period and after he hit Hasek and was sent off he came back on the ice and when McGratton went after him he just ducked and fell on the ice and Norstrom jumped in to protect him and took McGratton of him so he did everything he could to avoid McGratton.
And tonoght he went and took a shoot at Theodor in the Montreal...... so that speaks for himself about what kind of playe he is
As I said before I would hate to see him in the Sens team, he is not the kind of player i want to see in any team. He is the kind of player who has not enough skill to play against the skilled players so he tries to compensate by playing an intimidor role .... kind like Domi or Brasher
