Development team information
[2011-07-22] As you could read in the latest update Forward left the project due to personal reasons. It feels good to bring you some good news again by officially welcoming Xalfen to the development team. Xalfen has among other things experience working with C# which is a great fit for us. This means we are three developers again and I will be looking to add even more developers down the road.
[2010-10-12] Starting today, Forward has joined the development team and will help us realize this project. He is experienced in both C++ and C# which means we are now three programmers in total. Expect a new entry in the blog this week or next on what the near future has in store. Welcome Forward!
[2010-08-31] Good news everyone, the development team is growing. I am no longer the only programmer on this project, a couple of days ago jatahati joined the team. He brings valuable C# experience to the team and we share the same interest towards this project.
My initial plan was to complete the basic framework before considering expanding the team but the progression has been very slow as of late thus I believe this is the correct move in order to speed things up. I am sure jatahati will swing by and say hello and I would like to welcome him to the team. Let's hope this Swedish and Finnish collaboration will benefit everyone.

Hi to all.
Late at last friday I stumbled on this topic about dabo's work and were instantly carried away with the fact that someone had actually started to build long waited successor for the EHM. I have had plans and hopes that SI would release EHM 2007 source codes some beautiful day and I could do some updating and upgrading on it. But I found dabos project and the amount of support it had here. Soon I had contacted dabo and had my hands on the database structure.
As for me and my background, I've played manager games (mainly Sports Interactive's) from Championship Manager 2, through all EHM:s to Football Manager 2010. So I have some idea what the game should have and how it should work. Even though I've played a lot more FM games than EHM, I follow much more hockey than football (I've watched 51 Finnish SM-League games in past 2 seasons on rinkside + numerous NHL, KHL & SM-League from TV) .
dabo mentioned my "valuable C# experience" that can be translated to working for several years as full time C# programmer (not with any games though, more in business solutions). I still think that I can offer lot of knowledge on C# as language and good programming habits to the project and most importantly add lot of programming hours (progress comes with work not knowledge
). And I'm still working five days a week so I'm doing this as a hobby.
Main reasons for me to get involved are:
1. Get adequate hockey manager game for myself to play
2. Help others to get adequate hockey manager game for myself to play
3. Perhaps some day help to create a good hockey manager game
So here is my brief introduction. Now if you excuse me I'll start doing my new hobby
ps. i'm really lazy at writing to forums so i'll apologize for that in advance (still reading though).

I am planning on posting other announcements in this thread as well that's why I needed a fit-all kind of name.Alessandro wrote:Terrific news. I was SCARED before opeining this topic as I was pretty sure Dabo wanted to shut down the show, but thanks God we had the opposite!
You should share the vodka with the developers, I firmly believe that is the only way to write bug free software. This is a good day for all us. I'll think to you when my shot of vodka will flow down

I think that 3 rounds might be needed now and thenCeeBee wrote:Will Canadian rye whiskey do the trick?dabo wrote:I am planning on posting other announcements in this thread as well that's why I needed a fit-all kind of name.Alessandro wrote:Terrific news. Hi,
I'm new here to the forum but i follow TBL long time ago because that's the most active NHL:EHM forum.
Since the release of NHL:EHM 07 i've been playing it and loved. It was a really sadness knowing that SI didn't worked on future EHM versions like they do with Football Manager (a game that I'm addicted)
Year ago i tried to start a game but i was solo on project and and lacked the knowledge to develop games. I'm a business software developer, most for websites on ASP.NET (C#) i also helped my co-workers on some c++ applications for company.
I always had a dream to develop a game, and looking for the games out there I saw that had a lack of NHL Manager Games.
So, I looked to this Dabo project and seemed very interested with many people sharing their ideas to help the game developers, and looking to the team and knowing there were only two developers and a language that it's familiar to me I set myself to help on development to be the best possible ice Hockey Manager game.
So I'm here to help, not only the developers (on game development) also you that want to play the game just like me
