Relegation Idea

I am sorry if this has been done or talked about, I searched and got a whole lot of DM relegation talk.

So I have an idea of making a custom database of sorts where the best league in the world (involving the best players) is a relegation league.

The idea is to take the SEL (12 teams) and move the top 12 NHL Teams into that league. Then take 16 of the next best NHL Teams and move them to the Swedish Relegation league. I would also be changing the NHL Reputation to somewhere between 10 and 15 just to make it so its not the top league. I would also lower the NHL salary cap to about 5 million to hopefully create a wack of new FA's.

Now there are a few questions I have (note I have never played a Euro league game):
- Will changing the league reps actually work in making the SEL the TOP league in the world and will the top players want to go there?
- Are there any international player rules for the SEL that would prevent a team from having certain number of players born in NA?
- Are there any Financial constraints that would prevent players from wanting to go from NA to Sweden?
- What are the player rights and contracts like? Would it be impossible for the bottom teams to improve under this type of system?

Any feedback would be helpful, just sort of tired of the regular EHM setup and would love to have a custom game.

I'm afraid I have no "answers" for you at this point, but I'm working on some similar issues, and might have more "answers" in the coming weeks.
I'm working on a 1974 db (there's a thread on it in the Editng Forum), and have been playing around with League/Player Reputations as well as Team Resources/Reputation and Contract Issues.....for example, I've been able to "stop" the game from giving Europeans/Russians an "NHL Release Clause" at game start-up by adjusting player Reputation (Home/Current to 70 ot lower and World to between 1 and 10), as long as the player is over age 20.
I'm also planning on looking at other factors, like Player/GM loyalty (and maybe some other characteristiics) in regards to contracts/limiting player movement

IMO it is not "one thing" but rather multiple things that need to be addressed to "change the world structure" in EHM
