SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
===================

You must have the following installed:

1) Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package - http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... px?id=5555

If the tool does not function correctly or you get a Windows error then you may also need to install:

2) Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (or higher) - http://www.microsoft.com/net

IMPORTANT NOTES
================

Before using this tool, it is STRONGLY recommended that you make a BACKUP of your nation.dat file.

If you are using Windows Vista or 7, then you MUST run the tool as administrator if you place the exe within the C:\Program Files\..\ folders: Right-click on the 'Nation Extractor.exe' file -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Tick the box titled 'Run this program as an adminstrator'. Click on OK.

You should place this tool in the same folder as your nation.dat file.

HOW TO USE THE EXTRACTOR
=========================

In order to edit the data, you will first need to use the EXPORT option to generate a csv spreadsheet file. The Extractor will create two csv files:

1) Nation.csv
----------------
Do NOT edit this file. The data in this file is not reimported into the database. The purpose of this file is simply to show you everything that is stored in nation.dat.

2) Nation_rankings.csv
---------------------------
This is the file you can edit (use something like Excel). You can edit all of the fields other than the Nation ID and Nation Name. Most of the fields are self-explanatory, however two fields need a bit more explanation:

EU Membership:
1 = Non-EU country
2 = EU country

Importance
1 = Major
2 = Normal
3 = Minor
4 = No hockey (the nation will never appear in any international tournaments)

Once you have finished editing the nation_rankings.csv file, use the IMPORT option to import the data from the csv file back into the nation.dat database file.
