On The Prowl - An Augsburger Panther Story
Note: I am using the Manimal 4.1b rosters, adjusted for the hardcoded 2006 start date. Since buying the game a number of years ago, I've played very little in the European leagues, so I've decided to play a game in the DEL. I've noticed during my other games that Augsburg tends to finish near the bottom so I decided to see what I could do with them. My IceDogs blog will also continue.

Re: On The Prowl - An Augsburger Panther Story
September 2006
September 8th
Defenseman Patrick Seifert has been recalled to Augsburg from Kaufbreuren because, like an idiot I didn't keep enough home-grown players up to follow the roster rules requiring that 4 home-grown players be dressed for each game.
The Panther begin their season on the road, travelling to play Munchen. Jordan Parise will get the start in goal for Augsburg. Jordan Parise stopped 33 of the 39 shots he faced, and though the Panther scored late to break the shutout, they were never really in the game!
Augsburg 1, Munchen 6
Chartier (1) (O'Connor)
First star honours would go to Munchen winger David Wrigley, who scored two goals, and an assist. Second star would go to Munchen defenseman Jan Benda, who scored a goal, and an assist. Third star would go to Munchen center Mike Kompon, who recorded two assists.
September 10th
The Panther return home to play host to the Iserlohn Roosters. Tyler Weiman will get the start in goal for Augsburg. Tyler Weiman stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced, and though Iserlohn scored first, the Panther would score four unanswered goals to secure the victory!
Iserlohn 1, Augsburg 4
Gauthier (1) (Moore) PP
Steinhauer (1) (Unassisted)
Moore (1) (Chartier, Paddock) PP

Re: On The Prowl - An Augsburger Panther Story
Sorry to everyone that's been following this blog, but...I don't know, it just can't seem to hold my attention like other games I've played in the past. I'll be discontinuing this blog, though continuing with my Niagara IceDogs blog. I'll probably return to European Leagues at some point, but I guess the German League just isn't for me. I did finish out the season, finishing in 13th place...
