Will the Board get mad at me?

Post by Kris »

I tried doing a search for this but I couldn't find any related topic so here goes:

I am in the start of the third season with my Caps team. I tried to offer Ovechkin a new contract but he was not intrested for the moment, however I offered him, just for fun, a 10 year contract giving him $5m/year and he gladly signed it. The not-so-good-thing is that I already before his signing of that monster-contract was $1.5m over the player budget, I waived some players but still I am about $4m over the player budget. The board said that I had to cut salaries at any cost. The question is, will they get mad at me since I refuse to do what they tell me? Is it possible that I will get fired?

I tried to get them expanding the player budget, three times, but they are not the most cooperative of boards.

It's possible they might fire you but they might decide not to if you're team is doing well.

Who needs the rest of the team when you can put Ovechkin out on every line?

I am in my 3rd season so Kölzig is long gone. I don't want to lose any of my players, the lineups are matched perfect ;( Maby Fisher has to go... Fack!

Also I have a question about young canadians. I drafted and signed two guys and they have two years of junior-blabla left but I can't send them back to their juniorteam. Why is this? Last season I did the same thing and three guys headed back from where they came from but for the ones I have now, I can't get rid of them. I can't send them to AHL/ECHL (and I know why I can't) but why not to the juniors? I have even waived them two times without any progress in sending them away from two valuble roster-spots.

Does a CHL team hold their rights?

Have you tried offering them out on loans?

Now playing: Rammstein - Mutter.... Does that count as Metal?

Kris, you're probably gonna have to wait 'til September to be able to "loan" the junior players to their CHL teams.
