No, as I said I was too late "I posted the same thing just a few seconds later" :nerd:

Anyway, this seems like a decent move for both. Hawks have done well so far dumping salaries and actually getting some value back and not just rubbish. And Leafs improve their top 6. They also got Billy Sweatt who's a decent prospect.

HF Boards have put forth the effort to list all RFA's (Updating for qualified status) in the Trade Rumours and Free Agent Talk section.

Glad to get Versteeg in the Blue and White, but I gotta say, I'm kinda bummed about losing Stalberg...I really thought he could develop with the Leafers into someone like Patrik Elias or close to a Zach Parise. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess. Paradis was probably deemed to be overrated since being acquired in the Tlusty deal, and DiDomenico may never come back from that devastating leg break...don't know anything about Sweatt.

Versteeg (24) vs Stalberg (24) - let the Tale of the Tape begin!

Of bigger concern for me is....where the heck are the Leafs going to find prospects for their system when they keep trading away more players than they are getting back in players or picks?! They need to start stocking the cupboard, and soon!

It's not like they gave away great prospects... DiDom was going to be a 3rd liner at best, Stalberg hasn't been the same since his concussion and they got a decent prospect back.

Gonchar, Ellis to hit the FA market.

Preissing is being bought out by the Avs.

Ellis will hit the market but is priority is MTl first, I hope Gauthier will try to sign him. It's rare to see someone interested signing at MTL. :-D

I just saw this one. This kind of surprises me. How much does Meszaros make? I thought the Flyers were tight against the cap?

$4 million. The Flyers has 5 million plus left according to capgeek.com

And the Rangers signed Biron. Good pickup to relieve Lundqvist from starting all the games

According to LeBrun...

The Sens have signed Gonchar to a $16.5-million, three-year deal. The deal will pay $5.5-million per year and includes a no-trade clause.

I'm watching Twitter today. That appears to be a good way to keep an eye on what's going on.

And of course HFboards is down due to all of the activity.

Bruins re-sign Paille to a 2 year deal, $2.15M ($1M first season, $1.15M the next).

RDS reportiing UFA Alex Tanguay signs in Calgary

Oh and I'm reading some talk about Savard to Calgary (and maybe he'll waive NTC to play with Iggy). Bruins have interest in Regher.

Versteeg fits the Leafs a lot better now, which is the M.O of the organization.

We also signed Colby Armstrong, whom I was hoping would be signed for the third line.

They kind of overpaid Armstrong though, didn't they? $3M per year, IIRC.

That in itself is a bit perplexing, considering they refused to give Kulemin money in that neighbourhood. Colby made $1.2 last season, I would have expected him to be signed for $1.8 or $2 million.

Don't get me wrong, Colby will bring more to the table than Kulemin. I guess it just comes down to bidding wars.

That must mean that Philly go with Leighton+Boucher in next season.. I afraid. :-k
Even though I don't have nothing against those goalies as backup.

Reduce that cap space, as the Flyers now have Jody Shelley at $1.1m per for three years/
