Caps sign Schultz a 4 years, 11 millions dollars contract today.

Sabres sign Rob Niedermayer with a one year deal.

As I was thinking Nabokov go in the KHL with the SKA of St. Petersburg. He sign a 4 years, 24 millions deal it seems.

Kings are back in the nego with Kovalchuk and it's going "well" Lombardi said. It seems the news I saw with the Devils wasn't true or the Devils were not able to liberate some cap space to sign him.

The Bruins have re-signed Mark Stuart to a one year deal worth 1.675m $. That makes him an UFA in 2011.

I really hope they'll manage to bring him back to the B's when he's a UFA. I love what he brings to the team.

"He's also known throughout hockey as an inconsistent, streaky player, prone to moodiness and laziness."

"The move almost certainly means Simon Gagne, the longest-tenured Flyer, has played his last season in Philadelphia. The Flyers will be forced to clear space in order to afford him, as he has a cap hit of $5.25 million in 2010-11. Sources indicated that Gagne had agreed to waive his no-trade clause last week, but in an interview with TV station RDS Wednesday, Gagne said he still had not done so."

I wonder what Philly fans think about the recent actions. I've always had the impression that Gagne is a fan's favourite there. And Zherdev is so unphilly-like player. Now on the surface it looks they have to move Gagne to make cap room for Zherdev.

The Bruins just had their week long "Development Camp" for recent draft picks and other prospects. I've been reading a lot about it on HFBoards. I guess a bunch of the regulars went to watch (several parts of it were open to the public) and some even took video. Seguin was a huge hit and everyone is convinced he is the real deal. I also read very positive reports on Joe Colbourne, Ryan Button, Jordan Caron, Ryan Spooner, and Jared Knight. The future looks bright for the B's!

The future looks bright for every team in the NHL out of prospect camp. Every year you hear about 4 or 5 nobodies who are going to be ready to be NHL superstars come September. Then they play 25 games in the AHL on the fourth line, and get released at the end of the year.

That's true but what I mean is, I find the Bruins current group of prospects much more interesting/promising than I found last year's group.

Apparently the Blackhawks have matched the Sharks' offer on Hjalmarsson. Interesting!

The pure talent level wasn't comparable to this year's camp the years before as far as forwards are concerned, and it's not just Seguin but also Knight and Spooner. Of course the D and goaltending prospects left a lot to be desired this year. Button looked good and Cross finally managed to stay on the ice for more than 10 minutes without having his knees exploding but that's it for the positive news at the back end. Especially the goalies were poor.

If Gagne does get traded, it'll certainly be a major headline in Philadelphia; One of those front-page things that gets the giant bold letters taking up half the page on every newspaper. After all, he was born and raised with the Flyers; He's been here a long time.

As for Zherdev, I know nothing about him, to be honest. From what I've been seeing, it sound like he could be good, or he could be bad. It's giving me flashbacks to the Ray Emery signing last year, and as I expected, that turned out to be a bust (even if he didn't suddenly disappear, he still wasn't doing anything worthwhile for us - just another case of the Flyers relying on fringe goalies).

6.75? Ouch now that is ridiculous, Koivu is just a 60-70 player. Plus, he just reach the 70 pts for the first time of is career....

... one of the best two-way forwards, who can play 1st pp and pk, captain of Wild and Finland etc.

And Wild has played defensively all time, so Koivu, Brunette, Havlat and Bouchard or former-Wilds Gaborik, Rolston and Demitra has never fought for Art Ross.

Devils plays also defensively, Elias has similar contract and he has scored 2 over 80 points.

Hurricanes will retire Brind'Amours number 17 at 18.2.2011, when Carolina plays against Philadelphia.

Press conference this afternoon about Kovalchuk staying with the Devils. Can't say I'm happy about that.
