Off-Season Challenge Interest
Our current challenge with Sarnia will be wrapping up on August 10th. Who is interested in participating in another challenge, before the next version of the Lidas rosters come out? We should have at least 2 months, possibly more, for the challenge. Running another challenge normally wouldn't be a question at all but right now TBL is very quiet due to the time of year. If we've got enough people interested participating, I'll figure out a team.

If you picked the Canucks maybe Batdad would join?
Seriously, I think it's just as hard trying to figure out which team to pick. As much as I would love another CHL challenge, I think the fact that many people here don't know much about the CHL might discourage them from playing (I mean new people to the challenges, or other people who skipped the Sarnia challenge).
An ECHL challenge would be fun, but it would have to be a team with no affiliations (the players sent down could give someone an unfair advantage). Columbia Inferno, Mississippi Sea Wolves, Phoenix Road Runners.
Another thought...
Remember when EHM 2007 first came out? The first challenge we did was a Fantasy Draft. Something like that might bring a lot of people in because they could draft their favorite players. The stats, wins, first season cups, etc, would be silly, but it might draw a lot of attention from new people. I had a lot of fun with my All-American team (how I wish I had a save of that game!)
But if all else fails, playing with a powerhouse NHL team might be fun too.

I would be ok with any team in the next challenge. I do like the challenges as I get a chance to play other teams I don't normally choose. I've had a lot of fun with the Sarnia challenge and it's the furthest I've played in any challenge. I still need to work on my practice scheduling and apparently late and post season playing (whether it's my practice schedule or my tactics) because in the 7 season I played in the Sarnia challenge no matter how good my team was the last quarter always seemed to be my worst and I never had a successful playoff run, winning 6 games in the 7th season was how far I got.

As a slight aside, when the new Challenge starts you will be able to post your stats directly into the site. You won't even need the Challenge Stats spreadsheet to calculate your quarterly stats - you simply enter your totals each quarter and the site will do the rest. This will mean we can have everybody's stats on the site (and updated leaderboards) almost instantly (they will just need to be approved by a Mod) - rather than having to wait a long time for me to manually enter them all (which I will be doing within the next few weeks for the Sarnia Challenge - as well as all outstanding trophies and points).

Why do you think the guide is outdated?
It's just perfect and simple to start:
Joining & game setup
Gameplay rules
Stats recording & scoring
All sections are actual and valid

Correct. We update these sections every time there is a rule change. If you read through each of these, it tells you everything you need to know about the challenges.McQwak wrote:Why do you think the guide is outdated?

There's also the Cheat Sheet which provides an at-a-glance one page guide to NHL Challenges. As far as I remember, it's perfectly up to date. Here's the link: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/dl ... ile_id=583
