That's a good point, Riz. That had never really occurred to me before.

Of course adding a customisable start date would never be viable in a commercial product as it'd potentially damage future sales. As much as we'd all like it as it'd cater for any further hiatus in development, it's just not something you could add. I guess there'd also be implications for licensing.
I see what Brian is saying however. I suppose EHM is a bit of a niche with probably a lot of the fan base being hardcore fans who are going to buy it every year regardless. Still, I suppose if EHM struggled with sales then anybody who developed it in the future wouldn't wish to do anything to potentially limit future sales.
Still, the start date isn't the be all and end all - we've managed to get around it for the past few years.
Something else I'd like to see is being able to export stats to something like CSV, XLS or Open Office Format. I don't mean just the basic stats, but the entire range of player and team stats. I'm trying to improve the rosters by comparing in game stats with real life stats but I'm having to export the stats manually by taking screenshots of every page of stats and running them through OCR software (only £10 from ABBYY btw). It's taking ages!
