In my game I knew I'd deal Souray in the offseason due to concerns with his age, increasing tendancy to get hurt during games and his salary. But I mean jeez; ya have like five months before the next season so you sign them for the upcoming year knowing they're gone and you get their value back. Especially since Montreal gives you almost the full Cap to work under.I knew I didn't want to take any players in the Souray deal; but most teams view him as a 4-star guy so you know you can get good value for him. I didn't get quite as much as I could have in deciding to not take roster players back but I got Philly to take him and the 2nd rounder of Anaheim and give me back their 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder and 7th rounder. I then used his salary to sign Kubina as an FA and the picks went to toward strengthening my farm. Even if those players never "make it" they'll hold trade value at least.
