But they are Not as good as they were, and have and had ZERO chance of beating Boston in a 7 game series with the rosters the way they are.
Actually, a couple of RDS pundits predicted a pretty close series, with François Gagnon even predicting a Columbus upset. I really liked tonight's game. The Jackets just won't give up and you can feel that reaching the playoffs is not enough, even though that's quite an achievement in itself for the team. Meanwhile, Marc-André Fleury helped them a bit. He was great all game, then bad on the equalizing and winning goals - big, costly mistakes at critical times. Let's see how Fleury (and the Pens) responds to that now. I agree, go Jackets!philou21 wrote:Dramatic win by Colombus. That serie is far more interesting then people thought it would be. Go Jackets!
That's exactly what I think why Columbus have a chance to win this despite their poor offense. They really seem to work their asses off and sometimes that pays more than raw talent. Crosby and Malkin are nowhere to be found so far.YZG wrote:I really liked tonight's game. Fleury as always been like this. If the team in front of him were the Sabres or Florida he will suck. The guy can't handle pressure at all. I have absolutely no idea why he freaking skate off his net when the Columbus players were so close. Then he panicked and gave the easy goal. Don't talk about the one in OT, the shot might have surprised him but it wasn't a fast shot he could have easily made the save.Meanwhile, Marc-André Fleury helped them a bit. Also, the team that scored first always lost and the losing team always blew a 3-1 lead. That's crazy!philou21 wrote:Funny enough all the games have finished 4-3 so far in the serie.
Dubinsky is doing one hell of a job playing against Crosby. I'm really surprised. Calvert seems to have good moments as well and I never thought much of the guy.batdad wrote:I am even liking Umberger and Dubinsky and the way they are playing
You're trying to equalise 2+- hours with 6-8+- hours? Really comparable, lol.jesterx7769 wrote:You don't live in Pittsburgh, you live in EuropeIt's like how I have to stay up late for F1 (a predominately Euro sport) for a long time people that lived in Detroit had to stay up late to watch half of their local teams playoff games due to Western conference and now they no longer have to stay up late which is what Primis is saying.
I live on the West coast now so I don't have to stay up late for any NHL games
Ted Leonsis said this on the firings: "This is an important time for our organization, and I feel a change is needed in order to get us back to being a top echelon team that competes for the Stanley Cup."philou21 wrote:McPhee and Oates out in Washington. Yeah. Ovy shouldn't be captain. Not even an assistant. He should still be the #1 attacker and goal scorer on the team but leadership duties are beyond him. IMO he shouldn't even play on the PK. PP and even strenght that's it.YZG wrote:The team needs a heart and a soul. And a captain with leadership skills and a better attitude.
