These refs are having a howler. After 2-4 they just decided not to give Rangers anything else, and on top of not calling any of the 4-5 blatant penalties they gave Kings the 3-4 goal after a blatant goalie interference.... pathetic refereeing...

Well they helped the Rags with that stupid obstruction penalty on Lundqvist in the OT. Henrik should have been the one punished for embellishment.

Re: Official NHL 13-14 Playoffs Thread
I sure hope they got alot of money from the Kings owner to ref like that, most pathetic Adam Oates i have ever seen... Not only do they look away when Kings go all medieval on us in the 2nd period with atleast 2 blatant interferences and 2 blantant tripping... they proceed to gift them the comeback goal to 3-4 and then to ice the cake they miss the puck out 20 seconds before the OT winner.... PATHETIC...
And that Lundqvist thing was a clear pen from Carter, just stupid by him... Lundqvist might have sold it but it was as clear as day...

was looking till the end of 2/3 and wen to bed as i thought Kings wont come back after 2:4...yet got shocked in the morning that they won. For kings very important game now in NY...if they get sparked then NY might get in a run with several wins in a row. Kings must be tired after all those games in the playoffs...

Re: Official NHL 13-14 Playoffs Thread
Not sure where there was a penalty there. I'm one of those that thinks a goalie risk something by going out of the net and that been hit can happen. Plus, it was just a push, nothing more. If Lundqvist would have been in it's net and Carter would have pushed him like that then that would be obstruction. Henrik wasn't trying to do any saves outside his net so, no.Peter_Doherty wrote:And that Lundqvist thing was a clear pen from Carter, just stupid by him... I agree with you that the rules should be changed, but as it is now it was a clear pen. He slashed Hank and went straight into him. Still fuming about the game... such a pathetic performance by the refs, might have put the nail in the coffin for the whole series with those piece of Adam Oates calls.philou21 wrote:Not sure where there was a penalty there. Re: Official NHL 13-14 Playoffs Thread
Two goals that shouldn't have counted for the Kings. Dwight King was clearly in the crease for the 4-3 goal and Martinez should have been penaized for delay of game when he shot the puck over the glass right before they scored in OT.
The Carter on Lundqvist could have been a non-call. Rule says there can't be no 'deliberate or intentional contact' with a goalie, and I am not sure I saw that.
Looks to me like the Rangers lost focus after the 4-3 goal and you can't do that in such an important game. Anyway, two close games that could have gone the other way. Let's hope the Rangers close the games on home ice

That's an interesting article, but I wouldn't go so far to call him the greatest player in NHL today.Kopi wrote:Interesting: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2085 ... -superstar
Anyway it's either Kopitar or Lundqvist who'll get the Conn Smythe this year, depending on who wins the cup I'd say.

It'd be great if he'd get the Selke this year, a new fresh face for the award.

no no the way i understand it was that he has charm of Gretzky and can become and idol of Kings...but funny thing is what Gretzky mantion just before the finals:jhcjobpb wrote:That's an interesting article, but I wouldn't go so far to call him the greatest player in NHL today.Kopi wrote:Interesting: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2085 ... -superstar

"But the real bombshell was his take on Kings center Anze Kopitar. Gretzky’s proclaimed the final to be “Kopitar’s series”.
“I think Anze Kopitar right now is the third best player in the National Hockey League only behind Crosby and Toews and he’s getting better every game.
“To me, Kopitar’s the guy; he plays defensively, he takes all the key faceoffs, he can get the big goal and make big plays offensively. I think this series could revolve around him. If he plays the way he can play, it’s going to be tough for the Rangers to combat that.”
It’s extremely heady praise coming from the greatest player of all-time."
To be Conn Smythe i think he needs more then just a Stanley...i think Justin Williams or Carter might be closer if Kopi wont wake up with some assists and goals...

I don't think Carter has a chance at that. But Williams does as he's been "mr. game 7"".Kopi wrote:To be Conn Smythe i think he needs more then just a Stanley...i think Justin Williams or Carter might be closer if Kopi wont wake up with some assists and goals...

Kopitar already as 25 pts so even if he don't score for the remaining of the final he would still have been really usefull to the team.

The only one that could potentially challenge Kopitar for Conn Smythe if (when) Kings win is Doughty imo.

Because Vigneault really likes to have 1 really mobile forward in every PK unit, and St. Louis is doing a great job there. Hags, Nash and Zuke also plays alot of PK where Hags is forming one of the best PK units in the league together with Boyle, Girardi and McDonagh.Saapas wrote:I was planning on going to sleep somewhere near 3 AM, instead i watched the 3rd game and was not disappointed![]()

Looking good so far, Rangers seem to be more concentrated on the game than in Game 3. Also there were some really nice hard, clean hits!

Re: Official NHL 13-14 Playoffs Thread
In 3rd period the huge difference between these two teams really showed up. Rangers can't just play a whole game against the Kings and also their PP is awful.

Re: Official NHL 13-14 Playoffs Thread
Last straw with gamecentre went in to watch game 4 and at the the top of the middle of the page had wed 11th which was fine but to the right a match day for friday so knew who had won straight away. Really poor form treating international customers like this and so I will not bother renewing next season.

Re: Official NHL 13-14 Playoffs Thread
Nash's preparation for the game might have gone a little over the top, a little cross-check outside of the play and then a stupid penalty in the offensive zone. Doughty's penalty was similar. Rangers PP looked better than in games 3 & 4. Also the goalie interference on Pouliot was not to the head IMO even though Kevin Weekes was saying that. Entertaining game so far!
The SH goal of Boyle was a beauty! The penalty on D.Moore was a controversial call though.
