First of all i would like to thank everyone who is involved with developing the game. Mad respect for your job! Someone may have said these things before, but i would really like to be able to adjust scoring and fighting tendencies before you start a new game. This way playing with retro databases would seem more realistic and fun. Like in the 90's guys like Worrell and Shelley had 400-500 pim in the major junior leagues and in the minors but you will never see those amounts in the game. I don't know how difficult it is to do, but it would be nice to change the tendencies in every league separately.

Thanks

The Wish List thread is the perfect place for this!
As a fan/creator of retro databases I certainly like the idea!
I think Riz (the developer) was less enthusiastic about the idea years ago, but is "coming around" HaHa

In April 2015 he posted in the EHM Forum on the HF Boards "Whilst I'm not a big fan of having sliders in as such to modify aspects of gameplay (yes, there were sliders in the original freeware but then again the old freeware was focused on simulating just one league instead of a hockey universe with diverse leagues), I have thought about some possible new features for the future to do with different era settings for different databases. It's not something for the immediate future, but I'm not totally ruling out any features linked to adjusting the gameplay either."

I wish as GM we had a choice to retire player jersey no.

for example, the player is good, and play for your team 1000++ games or good in points and win cup for us, why not we as GM decide to retire his jersey. It would be more realistic..

Not sure if its been mentioned; but a tutoring system would be awesome for player development. Similar to how it works on Football Manager if anyone is aware of that?

Basically you pair up an established first team player with a younger player, in hope that they learn from the older player and gain some knowledge, and mental attribute development from the experience. However if you pair up personalities that clash, it has a negative effect. Would be a really cool addition to the dimension of player development.

i think it could a quick addition!

On the same note i think the the salary cap chart should be enhanced. I would like to see more years in the same panel. At least 5 or more.
In fact, a view like http://stats.nhlnumbers.com/teams/DAL?year=2017 would be awesome!

a graphic view of the team! idk what you guys think?
Adding to that i think it would be nice to see the players sorted by cap hit in the Salary Cap Chart tab in Finance. At the moment it's sorted by Current annual Salary .

That would be the most efficient way to kill its development.

I would love to be able to work in the us college system, and start from somewhere like the fourth tier of Swedish hockey and build a team up from there to the top of the game.

also the ability to turn your team into an organisation, like buying taking over some local youth team (like the Nottingham panthers taking over the notingham leopards and jaguars as developmental squads)

other simple things, like changing the pricing of the tickets, and merchandise to try and maximise profits elsewhere through the team.

retiring numbers.

those are some of the things I would like to see in the game.

I think being able to hold training camps for smaller teams. For example the EIHL, they don't have the option for a training camp however each teams holds them every year.
For even smaller teams the training camp is more of a tryout. For example the NIHL in the UK, most teams how training camps/ tryouts to bring it players. Being low lever, tryouts are one of their main ways of getting plays.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before.. I couldn't go through all the pages to find if it had been or not.

Here is an easy one - Under "Join network game" I wish, we could have a drop down menu with a list of recently input IP numbers.

Funny I was just thinking about how sliders would impact the gameplay in a good way

Ie if I were to set fighting to the maximum, more teams would start signing enforcers/checkers, as teams that already employ such players will need to be combated (80's hockey anyone?)

Also setting higher goal scoring will cause teams to start strongly scouting for goalies, and better defensemen to combat the higher efficiency of the opposing teams scoring players. (or even go out and get themselves high profile offensive stars to fight fire with fire.)

Basically I think it would be cool to adjust sliders and see how teams/leagues react to the adjusted settings.

It could certainly have been brought up already before. But...

As I understand it now, when you go on vacation you will not be notified of anything, really. You can however set certain rules that your HC (and possibly AGM) will hopefully follow. I would love to see the game go a little bit the EA NHL route and remove vacation or just add sim to date. What I'm looking for is a quicker GM experience, possibly still able to set rules for lines/tactics to be used still. While simming, you would be notified when a incoming trade is happening, if a player gets injured and you may have to move players up/down the roster, scouts needs to be re-assigned, players put on waivers etc.

As it is today, the AGM starts to do stupid things if you go on vacation and you can't be brought out of it in case of injuries etc. And if you don't have a AGM the board will appoint one while you are sitting under a palmtree sipping on a drink. There are times I just want to forget about games and just do the GM stuff (which is the most fun for me actually) and have a quicker sim but not being completely out of the loop in the day-to-day operations. I think FHM has something like this, but I haven't played that too much.

Agreed!

Although I don't play EHM as only the GM, it would be useful to know what is happening while you're on vacation and be able to react to it.

This is also how I sometimes like to play. I don't necessarily feel like simming each and every game but I still want to know what is going on while I am sipping that drink in the Caribbean!

FHM3 has the option of playing just as GM or as GM/Coach. You can still delegate responsibilities to assistant coaches too, which is something I would like to see implemented in EHM at some point.

Anyone whishing to be able to customize/play with the team's visual identities ?

I'd love to be able to see the teams jerseys/kits ingame at some point and even maybe modify them a bit ?
In order to create more roleplay as a GM, it would be nice to change the team's kits and even colors and see them here and there in the tabs.

A few ideas:
- Team colors in the fonts and pages backgrounds
- Player cards with personal number and name on a jersey, next to the facepic
- Ability to select from different jersey templates (different templates like Chicago's, Florida's, Montreal's or NYR's templates, etc..)

As for watching/coaching games :
Why not see the ongoing game or result scores as jersey numbers ? or the teams' jerseys somewhere near their name ?
Or the players moving as small jerseys with sticks ?

I understand this is just cosmetic, but I love games like Pro Cycling Manager mainly for their visual customizations possibilities, I think I spent more time designing and doing custom jerseys for my career teams' than actually playing the stages :D

I just edited screenshots with gimp and kits found at jersey database (hence the outdated sharks teal jersey), this is not something that exists ;)

I've thought about more possibilities on this, but I can't come up with any good-looking screenshot, but I think it might be nice to see jersey and numbers on the tactics screen :)
