batdad, I hate to say it, but the more I think about it, the more I think you're right on the money.  What other reason could there be for the lack of effort?  In my mind, Carbs would have had to tick off Koivu for this to have gotten as bad as it clearly has.  For the last few seasons he HAS been the leader in the Habs room.  The younger players (Ryder, Higgins, et al) seemed to follow his lead and the older vets gave him the respect he deserved.  Koivu's play, to me, is the most distressing.  
In the last month : 1-2-3 -10  
Those lonely three points all came on the powerplay.  Koivu hasn't had an even strength point in a month. Maybe longer (I'm too lazy to look -  

) Granted, the All-Star break factors into that month.  
I think I'm going to be lose my lunch. 
 
 
On a positive note for you, batdad, the VanCity boys pulled out another one.  Looks like Luongo is one of those rare athletes that makes good on his guarentees.
