A New Hockey Dynasty – An EHM Offline Sign-Up Competition

Some of you may be familiar with the excellent Prospect Generator created by IAmActuallyAnOtter which is used for the TBL and Premier Pivot Rosters. He has created an offline competition which doubles-up as a way of improving the Prospect Generator at the same time. It only takes around five minutes to sign-up. The aim of this game is to create the best family dynasty you can. It takes 5 minutes to sign up and there’s no other mandatory things you have to do after that – read on below if interested.

You’ll spread 580 potential points across the 1 non-player and 3 players you create with the aim of having them all make the NHL to score points for your family name.

The way this is going to work is that anyone who wants to join can download the attached spreadsheet, fill it in as per the contained instructions and send it to ehmocc “at” gmail.com. Then I will create the game, sim it on my computer and provide yearly save files for 13 seasons, then the 14th file will be at the end of season 30, where the game ends and all final points will be tallied.

Scoring:

– Non-players get 5 points for every NHL game they win

– Forwards get 2 points for every NHL point they score

– Defencemen get 3 points for every NHL point they score

– Goalies get 0.1 points for every minute they play in the NHL

You have the freedom to choose how to distribute their positions. Want 3 forwards? Go ahead. Want 3 goalies? All good. One of every position? Enjoy!

Signups:

– Your non-player will be made GM of an existing CHL club. The aim being that they have to make it to the NHL. Their CA and reputation will be set equal to the PA you assign.

– Your oldest player will be assigned to the Seattle NHL club I will add to the TBL 11.4.2 database we use. They will be aged to make sure they were just drafted.

– Your second player will be “unattached” and aged so that they will be in the 2022 draft (third draft in).

– Your third player will be “unattached” and aged so that they will be in the 2025 draft (sixth draft in).

Interventions:

You can intervene up to three times total during the save game files (I will use EHM Assistant to make changes). You may:
– Provided your player/non-player is 18+, you may subtract up to 20 attribute points from some attributes and add them to others.

– If your player has a NHL contract, you may “request a trade” at any point. I will use EHM Editor or Assistant to cancel your contract and rights and you’ll be made a UFA.

– Provided your player/non-player is 18+, I will “bump” the reputation of your player/non-player by 1,000 points (a good amount).

Each of the above counts as one intervention.

Final Notes:

– I’m looking for between 20 and 40 signups, I’ll leave this open for at least 3 days, and then close it when I have enough.

– There isn’t a community for this – updates will be posted on r/ehm as we go. Please post in this thread if you have any questions, but if in doubt, go ahead and fill it in anyway if there’s an issue I’ll fix it before the game starts.
