EHM’s first AI-generated facepack

Following hot on the heels of the first Premier Pivot Rosters release for the 2020/21 season is the incredible AI-generated facepack by No Purpose Flour (aka seacucumber3000 on Reddit) for those players created by the Prospect Generator. The pack can be downloaded on Steam HERE and you can find his AI facepack generator called EHM_Faces on Github HERE.

EHM_Faces is a machine learning project that can generate high-quality, realistic ice hockey player portraits. The tool can generate portraits either one-at-a-time or in batches. No Purpose Flour notes that the project was started out of frustration over the relative difficulty and time-intensity of creating quality facepacks for EHM. While many content creators have poured hours into curating high-quality facepacks for leagues such as the NHL, SHL, and KHL, there is a distinct lack of facepacks for smaller international and domestic leagues. The project is able to generate an infinite number of distinct player portraits, allowing fictional facepacks to be generated for these smaller leagues.

Here is No Purpose Flour’s summary of his facepack for those players in the Premier Pivot Rosters generated by the Prospect Generator:

You read that right – this facepack is 100% AI-generated! This means that you’re able to enjoy novel faces for ALL (with the exception of game-generated) players in the Premier Pivot database, bringing a new sense of depth and realism to the game!

This project is a followup to the AI-generated faces I posted back in March!

This first pack includes all players in the database generated by IAmActuallyAnOtter’s prospect generator (which is included in the Premier Pivot Rosters). Since these players are generated, you don’t have to worry about this pack overwriting any real-life player faces you use in-game.

This is only one part of the entire AI-generated facepack collection – I’m currently working on generating faces for ALL players included in the Premier Pivot database.

It’s impossible for me to review every single generated face for errors, so if you come across any mis-generated faces, please let me know in the comments and I will work to fix them! Please include the player’s first name, last name, and date of birth. I will only be fixing players who faces are truly mis-generated, so please don’t complain if a certain player doesn’t look Finnish or Swedish enough, for example.
