Premier Pivot Rosters v8.0.0 Beta (2023/24) Released

A public beta of the version 8 Premier Pivot Rosters for 2023/24 is now available on Steam (click here for details)! This is the first beta release of 2023/24 and, as is tradition for previous summers, is a free agent frenzy. Thanks as always to xECK29x and his many helpers who keep the game alive! Below is a list of what has been done in xECK29x’s own words.

The database for this season has been completely re-balanced, with trying to get closer to the feel of the Default or TBL releases. I have also made substantial changes to the database based on community feedback with over 120 total responses, this can be found HERE. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback!

All playable and most background leagues have been completely re-balanced, with more changes still to come. I also greatly increased player history detail while completely removing histories from other areas of the database, this was based on player feedback and optimizing my time in putting together this project.

This is still very much an NHL focused database project, so expect some unrealistic ratings and such in Europe, we just don’t have enough researchers to keep those leagues accurate, but we feel we are about 80% there with some tools Archi has built into the editor.

If you would like more details about what was modified to the database and how leagues now fit into tiers you can PM me. You can also look up the NHLe model (linked below in the change notes) and how they rank leagues, we align somewhat to that.

General Updates:

• Initial NHL Free Agent Frenzy release for 2023-24 season
• Complete re-balance of all competitions, clubs and players/staff
• Competitions re-ranked based on recent performance in Continental play and NHLe by Thibaud Chatel (Rethinking NHLe)
• Extensive clean-up of leagues and clubs
• Reduced playable leagues to focus on NHL-focused simulations and game play based on community survey results from April, 2023. More info HERE
• World Championships, World Juniors and Champions Hockey League all refreshed and updated, WC D3 and WJC-20 D2 now fully functional again

NHL Updates:

• Updated salary cap and other financial rules for 2023-24 season
• Making the LTIR guys retire early to give AI teams more cap. The EHM AI doesn’t really know how to handle these contracts and they just cause more issues then they are worth

To-Do:

• Manual re-rates and staff list updates for all playable European leagues, some ratings may be way off as we used an algorithm to perform the initial re-balancing. WE NEED MORE DEDICATED RESEARCHERS!!
• Fill out goalie statistics, the tool we use to pull data from Elite Prospects does not pull the detailed goalie stats so we have to do these manually.
• Continental Cup structure needs to be updated, its been removed for now.
• NHL re-rates
