PG has been completely revamped for Pivot v8 September release, includes:
- A complete rewrite of the attribute generation model has been undertaken, now based on regression analysis of almost 100,000 data points spread over 10 different 20+ year simulation files.
- Potential abilities re-scaled to match new Pivot rating system
- PG has been split into a 2 tier approach, where players that have a chance to roll over 160PA have a different generation model to those who cannot roll over 160PA; in the aim of making sure mid line and bottom line players look more useful than previous generations of the PG
- Several attributes have changed from a RANDBETWEEN model to a bell curve model (personality traits as well as core mental attributes like creativity, flair and decisions)
- A limiter on consistency, important matches and natural fitness has been added to players that can roll over 160PA to allow more space for players with 160CA or less to shine
- A further limiter on consistency, important matches and natural fitness has been added to goalies that can roll over 160PA to allow more space for goalies with 160CA or less to shine
- Instead of equally providing player abilities across left and right sides, this new PG is more like real life. Defencemen are now split approximately 65% left to 35% right side, and the same with wingers
- Forwards are now split so that 50% of all forwards are centres (previously equally split between LW, C and RW)
- Physical attributes completely revamped (now split into tiers) to improve drafts. Increases particularly for skater acceleration and speed, but not so much that over half the league has 20/20 for acceleration and skating when they are 23yo+.
